Solid Teak Parquet Flooring Installation and Finishing
The look and longevity of solid teak flooring depends entirely on the way it is installed. This flooring type, made from timber, is affected by variations in moisture and temperature and thus, the installation area must be thoroughly examined beforehand. Some of the key points to we focus on before the installation process are as follows:
Acclimatization
It is important for wood to be acclimatized to the climatic environment of the location where it will be installed. The duration of this stage varies with the type of wood as well as the conditions of the installation place.
Subfloor Preparation
No contaminants should be present on the subfloor. The surface must also be level and must not possess any moisture defects.
Fitting Methods
According to the type of floor and project requirements, solid timber flooring installation can be performed via nailing or gluing. Tongue-and-groove construction may also be used where applicable.
Finishing
The flooring is supplied unfinished as standard and can be finished after installation. Lacquer is one available option, while other compatible finishes may be selected according to the required appearance and maintenance needs.
